Our Story.
Back in 2004, when Facebook was just getting started and flip phones were all the rage, Deb and team embarked on their first major event management journey.
Standing at the registration desk, buzzing with nervous excitement, they welcomed rau tāngata | hundreds of attendees and they filled the room. That first 1,000-person conference was navigated with māia | confidence, leaving behind a trail of happy clients, engaged attendees, and meaningful connections.
That initial success led to more events and collaborations, igniting a wairua hihiko |adventurous spirit that took Deb on an international career journey. Years of experience and exploration across the globe only deepened her passion for creating exceptional events.
In 2017, fate intervened when a conference from 2004 returned to New Zealand and needed an event management company. Recognising the opportunity to bring her expertise back to Aotearoa, Deb founded HPCE—not from a sterile boardroom, but from the moemoeā | dream of building transformative experiences and a commitment to tino kounga | excellence.
Since then, HPCE has delivered hundreds of events, each infused with the same passion and energy as that very first conference. From the kata | laughter at welcome receptions to the bright lights of awards nights, the joy of bringing people together remains at the ngākau | heart of what we do.

Managing Director
Deb has over 20 years of experience in the business events industry both in New Zealand and overseas. She has a passion for innovative events, connecting people and seeing your events come to life.
Navigating the intricate landscape of corporate, not-for-profit, association and incentive events, has armed Deb with the knowledge and expertise needed to deliver and make your event a success. Every event has specific goals and KPI’s, so the experience you receive with HPCE is tailored to your unique requirements.
Building a great connection with you and your organising committee is the foundation to a successful event. Our clients begin the event management process as clients and leave as friends.
Maintaining strong supplier relationships, project planning and leading the business and team keeps Deb busy day-to-day.
Outside of the events world, Deb has two beautiful daughters - Ariana and Kaia. She loves intrepid travel, horse riding and playing the piano.

Event Manager
With over 10+ years in the events industry Vanessa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that spans various sectors of event management. Having successfully managed events of varying scales, from intimate gatherings to large scale conferences and corporate events Vanessa loves a challenge especially when it comes to those out of the box event ideas!
Vanessa is passionate about creating memorable client experiences all while having fun along the way! With a client-centric approach Vanessa takes the time to truly listen and understand your event needs and aspirations and will work with you on the event journey to deliver an exceptional experience every time.
Vanessa loves the outdoors and is never one to shy away from an adventure. She enjoys music and sitting down for a good meal with friends and family. Vanessa lives in Tauranga with her husband Liam and daughter Skylar.

Relationship Builder and Business Development
Laura holds a diploma in psychology and certifications as an NLP practitioner, which she applies to cultivate strong, authentic relationships in both business and community settings. With over 10 years of international experience living in the UK, she has gained valuable insights into different cultures and the power of human connection.
Her approach to relationship building is grounded in the values of aroha, whanaungatanga, kotahitanga, and manaakitanga . These principles, combined with her organisational skills and empathy, allow her to create lasting connections that drive both business success and support communities.
As a small business owner alongside her husband, Tom, Laura also holds a qualification in Māori governance and serves on governance boards for non-profit organisations, where she uses her experience working with diverse groups, and relationship building to foster collaboration and collective progress. A passionate traveller and mother to Ellie, she is driven by her love for cultures and her belief in the power of human collectivism to create positive, lasting change.

With a background in branding, graphic design, and digital marketing, Jess brings a sharp eye for design and a strategic mindset to everything she does. From crafting bold brand identities to developing seamless digital experiences, she thrives on turning ideas into impactful visuals and compelling campaigns.
When she’s not busy working, you’ll find Jess enjoying life in Pāpāmoa, spending time with family, op-shopping, colour organising LEGO, and catching up with friends. She’s passionate about helping businesses stand out and believes great design should be both beautiful and effective.
